KIM KING CURATES QUILTS TO INSPIRE CREATIVITY IN CHILDREN
Kimberly "Kim" King was born into a family of vocalists and musicians in Bakersfield, California. While her musical family perfected harmonies and composed tunes, she fine-tuned her wild imagination and mastered the art of observation.
Following a vibrant childhood in Bakersfield, Kim spent many of her formative years in Chicago and now resides in Seattle, Washington. A self-described "escape artist," she now uses her gift of observation and encapsulation to escape the routine nature of adulthood. Kim creates finely-crafted, bespoke quilts that represent the whimsical and colorful essence of childhood.
Before sewing a Kibibi baby quilt, Kim considers the recipient. Each tile of every quilt is hand-selected with care. The tile prints and placement are different on every quilt and ensure a curated adventure for babies and children. Her hope is for each Kibibi baby quilt to become a trusted companion of its owner -- a companion that will spark their imagination and accompany them during the many milestones that lie ahead.
Kibibi baby quilts are designed to be insightful, unique, and eye-opening... much like Kim's childhood in her hometown, Bakersfield.
